Winter joy Despite a lack of snow: ski areas of the Lipizzanerheimat ready for the season

In the Lipizzanerheimat region, the ski areas are preparing for the upcoming winter season, even if "Ms. Holle" has not yet spilled with snow. The operators of the winter sports areas in Modriach-Winkl and on the Salzstiegl are doing everything they can to be prepared in time for their start to their season on December 7th. However, while the Gaberl had to postpone the start of the season to December 14th, the cross -country trails on Hebalm should be available in the middle of next week.

At the different locations, the snowmaking work is in full swing. "Thanks to the cool temperatures, we have the snow cannons on the Salzstiegl," reports Robert Hammerl, the owner of the area. The aim is to make both the illuminated toboggan run and the Speikkogelift ready for operation on time at the start of the season. Innovations, such as fresh turntroof and new cash machines to reduce waiting times, support the smooth process. In addition, new webcams are installed that will deliver live images for the Servus TV weather offer.

optimization of the systems and offers

With the Hoislifts in Modriach-Winkel, the winter season is already in the starting blocks. Operator Andreas Gruber states that the preparations and snowmaking do well. There should also be surprises this year, even if Gruber does not want to reveal any details. The popular New Year's Eve run of the Sportunion Edelschrott is again part of the planning. The start of the season is targeted with a lot of optimism, ideally on December 7th.

The Gaberl has to struggle with a lack of snow and is forced to move the start of the season back. Operator Thomas Gauß explains: "We hope that we can open on December 14th, but at the moment it makes no sense." Nevertheless, significant modernizations were carried out in the meantime, including a new lift engine that was more than 40 years old, as well as pumping units and filter systems, which were realized thanks to the state of Styria. The prices for day tickets have increased moderately, they now cost 36 euros for adults.

On the Hebalm, those responsible are optimistic that they can start the cross -country season in the middle to the end of next week. Although the original plan to start at the end of November could not be realized, the anticipation for the worthwhile trail, including the floodlight trail, is clearly noticeable. Norbert Riedl and his team are looking forward to the coming weeks.

Overall, the region shows that it is preparing for the winter season with great efforts in order to be able to offer winter sports fans a nice experience, and does not stay idle while waiting for the longed -for snow.
