Assisted living in the Saßtal: A new home for all generations

In Mettersdorf am Saßbach, a new home has opened up for the elderly. The Sasstalerhof is now not only an inn, but also a place for assisted living that enables residents to live a fulfilling and sociable life in old age. The project is the result of many years of commitment from the Jöbstl family. This family has been running the inn on the ground floor for many years.

After 13 months of intensive construction work, the appealing house is now completed and offers space for a total of 16 apartments. Of this, eleven are specially intended for senior citizens who are looked after by Volkshilfe Styria. These residential units vary in size between 45 and 58 m². In addition, five other apartments are available for singles, couples or families that are over 36 to 90 m².

The opening ceremony attracted over 300 guests who celebrated this significant moment with the Jöbstl family. Monsignor Wolfgang Koschat blessed the new premises, which underlined the festive character of the event. Mayor Josef Schweigler emphasized that the introduction of assisted living is an important step for the family -friendly market town of Mettersdorf. "Here the circle is closed from the crèche to the elderly," he said.

Member of the Landtag Franz Fartek praised the excellent infrastructure of the community, which includes all important facilities such as local supply, catering and leisure activities. The two owners, Christian and Dominik Jöbstl, emphasized that it was particularly important to them that their inn remains a place of encounter for all generations. "We want to enable a happy life for young and old in the Saßtal through the renovation," they said.

This new living concept is not only another component for senior care, but also an enrichment for social life in the community. The assisted living in the Saßtal is available for interested seniors from October 2024 and contributes to creating a joint and supportive environment.
