New leadership for district administration Leibnitz and Murau from December

There are news from Graz that are important for the district administrative teams Leibnitz and Murau. On December 1, 2024, there will be a change of leadership. Governor Christopher Drexler and Deputy Governor Anton Lang handed over today, on November 28, 2024, the appointment decrees to the new authorities in a solemn ceremony in the Graz Castle.

The new district captain of Leibnitz, Karin Wiesegger-Eck, and the new district captain of Murau, Peter Plöbst, enter their new positions with an abundance of experience. Drexler and Lang emphasized the qualifications of the two during their speeches: "Thanks to their skills and leadership qualities provided in the application process, they are ideally suited."

Karin Wiesegger-Eck, born in 1965, has been working in the Leibnitz district administration since 2000. She started her career there as a lawyer and took over important roles, including the management of the security department from 2001 to 2012 and the plant presentation since 2012. In October 2023, she was also appointed deputy district chief what underlines her skills in the management area.

Peter Plöbst - new district captain of Murau

Peter Plöbst, also born in 1965, has a comprehensive experience in the administration. He began his career in 1992 as a head of unit in the field of business, art and culture as well as school matters in the former district administration Judenburg. From 2005 he worked as head of the investment department and held the position of the deputy district captain before the district administration of Judenburg merged with the district administration in 2012 as the district administration.

The appointments are not only important for the two new incumbents, but also for the administrative structures in the region. The responsibilities that go hand in hand with these positions are enormous, and both have proven themselves excellently in their previous functions.
