An evening full of stories: book presentation and discussion in Altaussee
On Saturday, October 26th, significant literature works will be presented in the winding aluminum lake. At 6 p.m., the new editions of the books "Kammerstätter" and "Resistance in the Salzkammergut" open their doors in the ballroom of the spa and office building. The event is under the direction of Günter Kaindlstorfer, which will lead through the evening.
The presence of a prominent guest is particularly remarkable: Helmut Kalss, the author of the works presented, will perform his perspective. He is not only a historian, but also deputy chairman of the literary museum in Altaussee and the local council. Together with Gabriela Zerhau, the director of the film hit "A village is deflected", the round will have an exciting discussion about the various myths and stories that seem to wrap the Salzkammergut and especially Altaussee.

After the book presentation, which will take place with free entry in the spa park, visitors can enjoy a special musical experience. As part of the Capital of Culture in 2024, the artist Bernadette La Hengst will present a song program with various choirs that deals with the current topics of the region. "A hymn to the Salzkammergut" is not only maintained musically, but also stimulate thought.
The protagonists of the event
The director Gabriela Zerhau created a historical drama with "A village defends itself" that discussed the rescue of the art treasures from the Altausseer mine in 1945. The film was remarkably awarded, including the Austrian award of adult education for the best television film 2019 and the Gold Award of the New York Festival.
Günter Kaindlstorfer, known as literary critic and television presenter, was named cultural journalist of the year in 2023. He brings extensive experience into the moderation and will try to present the profound topics of the book content understandably.
The advance sale for the event is available in all information offices of the Ausseerland and online at Kultur.ausseerland.at, at a price of 17 euros in advance and 19 euros at the box office. A program that will inspire to think not only offers a platform for literary works, but also for cultural and community developments in the region.
