Inclusion in focus: Dutch delegation attends schools in Leutschach
In an exciting day trip, a group of 23 experts from the Netherlands visited the schools in the Leutschach region to find out more about including educational approaches. Under the direction of Sabine Haucinger, an experienced state school inspector for inclusion, visitors received an insight into the practice of the Gamlitz middle school, the Leutschach elementary school.
The inclusive school culture, which is established at these schools, emphasizes the diversity and individual strengths of the students. In this environment, all children have the opportunity to exploit their full potential while learning in a respectful and supportive setting. Equal opportunities and social cooperation are not only theoretical concepts, but are actively lived.
inspiring projects at schools
The delegation was given the opportunity to immerse yourself intensively in everyday school life. A special highlight was the "cooking workshop" at the Gamlitz middle school. This project gives the students the opportunity to acquire valuable everyday skills with special needs by shopping, cooking and finally enjoying the prepared dishes. Such activities not only promote independence, but also the sense of community among the participants.
Another remarkable project that the guests took was "McWindow". With this innovative approach, the students provide the school community four times a year with healthy snacks, which promotes their responsibility and creativity.
In the Leutschach elementary school, the Dutch visitors were informed about the model of the family classes. During their time on the school premises, they had the opportunity to watch the lessons and thus get to know various inclusive teaching methods firsthand. During their last visit to the Leutschach middle school, the guests were able to explore the modern school campus with its open learning areas and enjoy a delicious three -way lunch, prepared by the school tourism group.
The reactions of the Dutch delegation were consistently positive. They were impressed by the large number of inclusive measures and the committed school culture that prevailed at the institutions visited. This encounter not only offered plenty of space for exchange and inspiration, but also an important step in the direction of international cooperation in the education sector.
