400 years of Ehrenhausen: A festival of history and community

Last Sunday there was a big celebration in Ehrenhausen, which praised the 400th anniversary of the market survey of the village in 1624. This significant event brought the community an economic upswing, and the residents diligently helped to make the anniversary an unforgettable festival.

The celebrations began with a festival service, which was led by General Vicar Erich Linhardt. Afterwards, the Musikverein Ehrenhausen created a festive atmosphere with a varied music program. In his speech, Mayor Hannes Zweytick reviewed the 400-year history of the place and thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration, including the employees of the community, the clubs and the sponsors.

A highlight of the festival was the ceremonial awarding of a new coat of arms by Governor Christopher Drexler. Historian Alexandra Kofler presented an exhibition that took up the history of Ehrenhausen, accompanied by an informative brochure. In addition, the "Mag. Peter-Studer-Platz" was inaugurated. The place is now decorated by a bust of the same name by artist Jörg Roskaric.

Another attraction was the impressive overflight of Rabe "Franzi" from the bird wart Riegersburg, whose majestic appearance inspired visitors. The raven symbolizes the historic heraldic animal of the Eggenberg nobility family and now also adorns the new coat of arms of the market town. As part of the anniversary, 400 bottles of wine were also filled to celebrate this special occasion.
