The Austrian Post is planning a significant expansion of its delivery service and will introduce Sunday delivery to the cities of Graz and Linz from the second half of 2025. Markus Petritsch, chairman of the Straße department at the Vida union, has raised questions about the need for Sunday delivery and warned that the collective agreement for small transports does not cover Sunday work.

The union also criticizes that a public company like the post could build competition with local trading companies. These concerns are reinforced by the different working conditions and the pressure on the deliverers in a changing market.
