New regional offices for people with disabilities: hope for everyone!
The disabled attorney is facing a serious problem: Since the introduction of the Disabled Equality Act in 2006, significantly fewer procedures have been carried out than expected. Instead of the forecasted thousand arbitration procedures per year, there have been only 4,500 arbitration in the past 19 years, about half of which were successful. The legal profession was also only active in Vienna, which meant that many concerns from other federal states remained unheard of, as the disabled lawyer Christine Steger reports. With new regional offices in Graz and Salzburg, a significant improvement in the situation is now to be achieved.
public transport concerns and everyday discrimination
Christine Steger emphasizes that there are also different problems in different regions. While the situation in Vienna is partly relaxed, people with disabilities are struggling elsewhere with massive obstacles, such as access to public transport. It is not just structural things such as missing ramps in public buildings or shops that make everyday life difficult. Disadvantages in schools, at the workplace or in the area of travel - such as not barrier -free showers in booked hotels - are also everyday challenges that many are looking for. The disability lawyer provides advice and support for those who believe that they are discriminated against based on their disability, according to Disabled Annual Office.gv.at .
The aim of the legal profession is to ensure that all texts on your website are understandable and to make the information accessible to everyone. Sign language interpreters and training offers are also available, which makes the attorney an important point of contact for those affected. "We want people with disabilities to receive the support they deserve," says Steger. The efforts to be accessible to accessibility are therefore further intensified in order to proceed, document and legally pursue discrimination that is made according to the Federal Disability Equality Act or the Disabled Administration Act.
