Multilingual talents inspire at the speech competition in Vienna!
In a spectacular finale of the multilingual speech competition "Sag’s Multi", numerous talented students competed in Graz on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. The competition combines the youth in their diversity by changing the participants between German and their mother tongue or a learned foreign language. This was done as part of the final events for the regions of Styria and Carinthia. This year's key topic "Moves you!" not only included physical movement, but also social diversity, participation and human rights. Many multilingual speech talents had already qualified in advance and presented their talking skills in front of a jury, as ORF reported.
The grand finale recently took place in Vienna, where 35 students from all over Austria and for the first time also from South Tyrol were honored. At the closing ceremony in the festive hall of the Vienna town hall, 500 people present, including 130 finalists: inside, celebrated diversity through multilingualism and the commitment of youth for important social issues. The competition, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, was under the motto "Collect, help shape-my voice, my actions". Federal President Dr. Alexander van der Bellen congratulated in a video message and emphasized the importance of the lecturers of the young talents for society, as Sagsmulti reported.

In the 15 years of the competition, impressive 91 languages were used, whereby 38 different languages were used in combination with German in this round alone. The competition not only offers a stage for creative forms of expression, but also promotes understanding of cultural diversity, with a high level of participation in female speakers: inside. Over 70 percent of the participants were girls. The event was very well received and is perceived as a significant platform for the votes of young people who address topics such as identity, climate and justice. In addition, the events were broadcast in the live stream, so that the audience could also follow the passionate speeches online.
