Wiener Straße, 8020 Graz, Österreich - in Graz there was a dramatic accident when an 87-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car. On Wednesday afternoon, a 72-year-old driver drove north on Wiener Strasse when the older lady tried to cross the street. According to the Orf Styria the driver only noticed the woman at the last moment and was unable to initiate an emergency braking. The collision occurred near a bus stop, which reinforces the dramatic circumstances.

The pedestrian was thrown against the vehicle front with full force and landed directly on the windshield of the car. The police were alerted around 5:55 p.m. and a rescue chain started to help the injured woman as quickly as possible. As the Meinzärzirk reported, the 87-year-old was seriously injured to the regional hospital in Graz, where it is treated in hospital. The driver was unharmed, but his vehicle had considerable damage. This is another serious incident that clearly illustrates the dangers for pedestrians in road traffic.
