A serious incident in Graz that took place on September 9th may now have been solved. A 16-year-old boy was stabbed at the time and police have recently made progress in the investigation.
The crime, which took place in September, put the life of a Turkish national, also 16 years old, in danger. He was seriously injured in the back in an attack by initially unknown perpetrators. Thanks to emergency surgery, his life was saved.
Arrest of the suspects
The murder investigators from the Styrian State Criminal Police Office, together with the task force to combat street crime, arrested a suspect in October. It is a 16-year-old boy from the Graz area. His accomplice, who comes from Leoben and is also 16 years old, was arrested in November.
The two suspects are suspected of being involved in a failed drug deal, specifically a planned drug deal involving cocaine. This was preceded by an incident that the police describe as a “retaliatory attack,” which suggests that there had been a break in the drug transaction between those involved.
Both of those arrested make some confessions, but object that there was no intention to injure or kill. They have now been transferred to the Graz-Jakomini prison, where they are awaiting further proceedings.
