This innovative platform combines the entire childcare offer of the region and thus brings together both parents and carrier associations in a simple and user -friendly way. When presenting the portal, the country's project manager, Vesna Krnjic, expressed that the idea behind the portal works similarly to an online shop, which makes the search for childcare places more uncomplicated.

In the past few months, Krnjic and her team have been working intensively to bring together the various offers. The effort should be worthwhile to create a platform that helps young parents find suitable childcare places, and at the same time facilitates the coordination.

Current situation in Styria

The care landscape in Styria shows an interesting picture: there are currently more places for children between the ages of 3 and 5 than children in this age group. According to the Bildungsdöresrat Werner Amon, these places are to be better distributed by the children's portal. 35,664 places are currently compared to 34,209 children. Amon emphasizes that this should contribute to the creation of more transparency in childcare.

SPÖ club chairman Hannes Schwarz describes the children's portal as "milestone in childcare and education in Styria". It is extremely important that all parents, regardless of their place of residence or their social origin, have the same access to childcare places for their children. The children's portal should not only make it easier to find a place, but also to simplify the entire registration process.
