Jäger accident in Feldbach: 69-year-old injured colleagues in hunting

On Saturday morning, an unfortunate incident occurred during a low game hunt in a forest in Höflach, near Feldbach. A 69-year-old man from the Southeast Styria district should not only gently redeem a supposedly sick deer, but accidentally hit a 41-year-old hunting colleague. This unfortunate situation arose when the hunting group was made aware of the game by loud and the older hunter wanted to take a catch.

Although the 69-year-old was specially in line with other hunters to clarify lines of vision, the injured hunter was hit in the hip, the upper abdomen and the thigh. According to reports, this was hardly recognizable despite the striking orange warning hood in the thick, sloping terrain.

First aid and reactions

Immediately after the incident, the 69-year-old and other hunters immediately provided first aid and accompanied the injured member of the hunting group to the next street. The Red Cross rescue workers and an emergency doctor were quickly on site to take over medical emergency care. Fortunately, the 41-year-old was accessible and was transported to LKH East Styria in Feldbach, where he was treated on an outpatient basis. He was able to leave the hospital quite quickly.

At the subsequent interrogation, the 69-year-old showed himself Reuig and described the incident as unexcused, despite the claim that he had complied with all security regulations. After completing the investigation, he will have to answer to the Graz public prosecutor's office for suspected negligent assault. Such incidents raise questions about security and responsibility in the hunting area, especially at a time when the hunting practices repeatedly cause critical discussions.

The incident has already triggered some reactions and is the subject of strong emotions among the hunters. The exact circumstances that led to this tragic event are still the subject of the investigation.
