GAK shows interest to ex-international Andreas Ulmer

Andreas Ulmer, the experienced left -back, has been without a club since July 1, after his contract was not extended at Salzburg. In his impressive career, he won 13 championship titles with his bulls and played a total of almost 600 games for FC Salzburg. Although he was already associated with Sturm Graz and the Grasshoppers from Zurich, there has not yet been an obligation.

The GAK is currently interested in Ulmer. According to Salzburger Nachrichten there was already a first conversation between sports chief Dieter Alsneg and Trainer Rene Poms in Graz. Elsneg confirmed the interest in Ulm and emphasized his qualities: "We don't have to talk about the footballer and leaders Andreas Ulmer. He was a showcase professional with the series master until summer. Of course he helps us." He also mentions that Ulmer is still ambitious and wants to demonstrate his skills. At the moment, however, one is not yet in an advanced stage regarding a possible obligation. The GAK also wants a clear assessment of the player's fitness status, which is already advanced at the age of 39.

The international break came to match the GAK to work intensively on the team and play tactics. After the undecided games against Rapid and Salzburg and a victory against the WSG from Tyrol, the team under the new coach Rene Poms had the opportunity to make progress in its principles. "We have certainly progressed in his principles," emphasizes sports director Elsneg and reports on an internal test game in which all players would have shown full commitment. This break was perceived as extremely positive and should benefit the team spirit.

The talks about Ulm show the efforts of the GAK to strengthen the squad and rely on experienced players. In view of the impressive career of the full -back, it remains to be seen whether the negotiations can be specified in the near future.
