ÖKB OV Preding: Review, honors and new elections at the General Assembly

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the members of the Austrian Comradeship Association of Local Association Preding gathered in the GH Holiday for the General Assembly . The event was opened by chairman Hannes Wastian , who was happy about the large number of participants. In addition to the numerous comrades, many guests of honor were also present, including district chairman M. Poscharnik and NR MP Mag. E. Gödl. Mayor E. Steiner and some municipal councils also did not miss the opportunity to take part.

A highlight of the meeting was the greeting of five new members, which increases the total number of comrades to almost 200. Before reporting on the past year, Wattian thanked all helpers and supporters for their commitment. The presentations of the chairman and the sports officer O-StV. K. Sackl described the numerous activities and successes that the OV Preding could reach in 2024.

Some honors were also made as part of the meeting. The comrades E. Waltl and J. Ninaus were honored for 40 years of membership, while J. Tschampa was honored for 50 years. In addition, K. Hödl and J. Fink received the high honor of the state association for their special merits. In addition, K. Sackl, J. Fink, J. Hödl and F. Lambauer were appointed honorary people. Chairman Wartian was appointed a protector for his 37 years as chairman.

An important new election of the board was carried out under the chairmanship of M. Poscharnik. The new board is composed: chairman Karl Riedler , O-deputy Anton Fröhlich , Wolfgang Gutschi and Johann Schrei . Treasurer was Johann Walter with his deputy Peter Klement , while Monika Becker was elected as secretary with Friedrich Sundl as deputy. Riedler then thanked the outgoing board for the excellent work that was done for many years.

In the greetings from the guests of honor, the importance of involving youth and women more in the Comradeship Association was underlined in order to promote sustainable developments. Creating the cooperation and communication channels to avoid conflicts were also central issues.

The meeting was endured with the traditional final formula "in loyalty" and a sociable lunch that gave the members the opportunity to review the daily events.
