Festival service and blessing: 70 years of the Church of Frauental celebrated

On Sunday, November 24th, a very special festival service took place in the newly renovated parish church of Frauental. On this occasion, nobody had traveled less than Bishop Wilhelm Krautwaschl to officially bless the church. The festive framework was musically framed by the market chapel under the direction of Oskar Lenz, which was also responsible for the singing of the Robert fox church choir.

Pastor Istvan Hollo and the bishop celebrated the fair together, while a large group of altar servers warmly welcomed the guest of honor. Mayor Bernd Hermann also welcomed Bishop Krautwaschl and emphasized the good cooperation between the parish and the community, which generously participated in the renovation costs. Krautwaschl was reminiscent of the beginnings of the church building in 1954, which were characterized by hard work and optimism.

The anniversary year was all about the 70th anniversary of the church in Frauental. Numerous events took place over the year, organized by the parish council and hardworking helpers. The celebrations began in May with a May devotion and an exhibition opening in the rectory. In June there were numerous activities as part of the “Long Night of the Churches”, including a children's vespers and tower.

In July, the market music band organized a benefit concert to support the renovation work, and in October a choiress took place with another benefit concert, the proceeds of which also benefited the renovation. The festival service with Bishop Krautwaschl presented the crowning glory of the anniversary celebrations.

In the course of the anniversary, a new illustrated book was also published, which documented 70 years of the Frauental church. The doctor Eva Temmel worked on the layout, collected photos and texts and implemented a wonderful work that was well received. Maria-Theresia and Josef Tomaschitz also contributed to the creation. An agape on the church square offered the opportunity for nice conversations with Bishop Krautwaschl and officially rounded off the anniversary year.
