20 years of young farmers' ball: a festival of the community in Stainz
The young farmers' ball in the Agricultural technical school in Staz has once again exceeded all expectations. This year the ball fell on a very special anniversary: 20 years in which it is considered a fixed highlight in the event calendar. On Saturday evening, the chairman of the district youth, Matthias Knopper, and the head of Felicitas Masser welcomed the numerous guests, while LFS director Johannes Kollmann officially opened the event. Around 70 committed young people were involved in the planning and implementation of the event and ensured a rousing atmosphere.
The festive event is a close cooperation between the district youth, the technical school and the graduate association. Preparations for such a big event are anything but easy. This is particularly evident in the elaborate dances that the young people have rehearsed. This creative energy was clearly noticeable when visitors to the ball dived into a living world of dance and conviviality.
lively dance performances
A highlight of the evening was the polona cheese, which was shown by eight couples from the district youth. They presented an impressive choreography in their lovingly designed costumes. Michael Herk, one of the actors, described the intensive rehearsals led by coaches as challenging, but the result convinced. With every swing and every figure, the joy of the dancers was obvious. The Mambo-Lift and the various figures presented in the course of the polonaise made the audience be amazed at.
The joy of the successful performances was recognized by the coaches Heidi and Franz Hüttinger with a small present, as a thank you for the excellent cooperation with the youngsters. This sense of community contributed significantly to the distinctive mood of the evening.
welcome greetings from the hosts
In the welcome address, Knopper and Masser paid tribute to the great support of the guests and their loyalty to the young farmers ball. The political representatives and guests of honor such as the district farmers' bonds Christian Polz and chamber secretary Michael Temmel were also particularly mentioned. The hosts emphasized the cooperation with the technical school and the graduate association as key factors for the success of the ball. In addition, the main sponsors were recognized for their support, including the Raiffeisen banks of the district.
The entertainment offer was diverse. Visitors were able to stay in the ballroom at several stations. The photo box, which made funny souvenir photos, was particularly popular. The classrooms of the technical school were set up to offer various delicious dishes and drinks, including a cake and coffee bar as well as the wine house and the beer bar. The gastronomic care was taken over by the students of the LFS that served for the guests.
Another highlight was the Hashafenhafen, where every lot promised a win. As a musical supporting program, the "Blechquetscher" entertained those present, while a DJ created an additional mood in the basement.
In his speech, director Johannes Kollmann praised the successful cooperation and described the young farmer's ball as a showcase project. He thanked the approximately seventy helpers for their efforts, who led to an extremely successful evening. The spectators were also enthusiastic about a special program item that took place at midnight: pupils of the technical school showed in an entertaining performance how a cozy television evening could work. The event was consistently evaluated by the guests, and many are already looking forward to the next year.
