Star night in the Wachau: Celebrate 25 years of UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Rossatzbach, Österreich - The "Star Night from the Wachau" will take place on September 19 and 20, 2025 in Rosatzbach. It is the 13th edition of this popular event in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau. This year the 25th anniversary of the Wachau is also celebrated as part of the World Heritage Site. The governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner emphasizes the importance of this region as an event location, which is known for art, culture, enjoyment and a breathtaking landscape. The star night is described as a festival of feelings and the community, which attracts large numbers of spectators both on site and on television.

Last year the event counted around 10,000 visitors on the spot, while 1.8 million people followed the celebrations from home on television. The event generated a value added of 1.5 million euros for the region and a high advertising value of 4.9 million euros, which makes it an important ambassador for Lower Austria.

This year the star night is presented by the popular moderators Barbara Schöneberger and Hans Sigl. The event begins on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 8:15 p.m. and is broadcast on live time on ORF 2 and ORF ON. The artists who will be on stage include well -known names such as Andreas Gabalier, the sons of Mannheim, Beatrice Egli, Leslie Clio, Johnny Logan, Pietro Lombardi, Josh, Simone and Alexander Eder. It is particularly worth mentioning that Alexander Eder presented his new song "The very last dance" at the press conference, which took place on July 14, 2025 in Schloss Dürnstein. About 10,000 spectators are expected on site and a TV range of 1.8 million. In addition, a culinary supporting program is offered that includes catering stands and a traditional costume show. The technical implementation of the event takes place with the latest IP technology through ORF technology.
