State Prize of Economic Film 2025: Nuri triumphed with captivating story!

The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism awarded the State Prize for Economic Film on May 21, 2025. The prize was awarded to the project "Nuri - The Fisherman’s Daughter" by the Dirnhofer Filmproduktion, which resulted in a competition under 89 submissions. The client of this successful project is the Nuri Conservas Pinhais Co., which is known for their high -quality fish.

The jury in particular praised the excellent storytelling, the impressive camera work, the assembly and the acting achievements of the film. Secretary General Severin Gruber underlined the importance of the price as a contribution to added value, productivity and competitiveness of the domestic economy. Economic Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer was convinced that business films make a decisive contribution to image formation and brand strengthening of companies.

In addition to the winning project, four other nominees were also announced for the State Prize of Economic Film. These are:

  • "The Anton makes the music" (producer: forafilm, client: tourism association Linz)

A special prize for young film producers went to Simon Elias reader for the project "Family Gefzele -Glasses who write your life". The State Prize of the economic film has been awarded every two years since 2005 to promote the image and awareness of the economic film in Austria. The competition is organized in cooperation with the specialist association of the film and music industry in the Austria Chamber of Commerce.
