Social benefits in Austria: 4.6 % more money from 2025!
With the upcoming valorization of social benefits in 2025, families and people in need of care in Austria can look forward to an increase of 4.6 %. The decision to adapt all social benefits to inflation was already taken in September 2022. Specifically, this means that nursing allowances and relatives receive an increase in their remuneration from January 1, 2025, which applies independently of income. According to 5min.at , care levels are also affected by this increase, which increases the financial relief in the area of domestic care.
In 2024, an even higher adaptation factor of 9.7 % is effective for various family and social benefits, such as finance.at . This applies, among other things, the family allowance, the child deduction as well as various deduction amounts for single parents and pensioners. Valorization enables families to receive up to 275 euros more per child, which benefits larger families in particular. For example, the aid for children under the age of three in 2024 increases to 141.50 euros, and sibling graduation is also increased, which increases the financial cushion for families.
The annual adaptation of the social benefits is determined by the consumer price index, so that all those affected can benefit from the increasing living costs. From January 1, 2025, another step towards financial stability is in prospect, and the increase in the care allowance and the relative bonus shows that the government reacts to the needs of those in need of care and their relatives.
