Sensational street theater Olala 2025: A festival of diversity in Lienz!

On July 22, 2025, the highly expected street theater festival Olala, which is already celebrating its 24th edition, begins in Lienz. The Ummigummi cultural association organizes the event, which is intended to convince with a variety of performances. This edition of the festival is first designed by the successor: inside the late Hans Mutschlechner, who is considered the author of the festival and died last year before the festival week. Despite his death, many of his ideas continued to flow into the planning.

A total of 32 groups from 15 different countries will take part in this year's festival. This thematic diversity ranges from acrobatics to contemporary circus, which should make the festival a climax for those interested in art and culture. The performances take place in the picturesque downtown Lienz, on the festival site of the Dolomitenhalle and in the Iselkai Park.

The tickets for the special evenings cost 31.50 euros, with schoolchildren up to 14 years being able to participate for EUR 26.25. The production "Six °" of the Canadian team Flip Fabrique, which is offered for 26.25 euros, is specially emphasized, while students up to 14 years only have to pay 21.00 euros.

This year the festival goers expect three different festival site. One of these terrain is the Dolomitenhalle on which a small circus tent is set up. The tent will accommodate a very special attraction: a production from the "Metaphysical Circus", the genre of which has not yet been shown in Lienz. The metaphysical circus treats the absurdity of life in a profound and humorous way and skilfully blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion.

Another highlight is the performance of the Canadian circus group Flip Fabrique, which will appear on Wednesday and Thursday with a poetic story about relationships and communication. On Friday and Saturday, the well -known olala specials take place, which are traditionally sold out. Here the spectators can expect a mixture of juggling, pantomime, acrobatics and magic.
