New cross -country bridge in Gries: Security for road users increased

In the picturesque Gries in Pinzgau, the construction of a new cross -country bridge is progressing, which is a significant progress for the region. On Monday, two impressive bridge elements, each 70 tons and 52 meters long, were successfully lifted over the Salzach. Two powerful cranes with a capacity of 450 tons were used for this precise work.

This new infrastructure will not only improve transport connections, but also significantly increase security for all road users. By building the cross -country bridge, two previously used railway crossings can be abandoned, which reduces risks for pedestrians and drivers. The project also presents the basis for a comprehensive modernization of the stop in Gries in Pinzgau.

modernization of the stop until December 2026

To modernize the stop in Gries in Pinzgau, it is necessary to build the new bridges in good time. The stop is currently restricted by a railway crossing with barrier system, which hinders the modernization plans. As part of a joint project in which ÖBB, the state of Salzburg and the municipality of Bruck on Glocknerstrasse are involved, a completely modern stop will be created in the near future.

The new stop, which is to be completed by December 2026, contains two barrier -free edge platforms of 220 meters in length and will be designed for the use of longer trains. In addition, passengers will be able to view current departure and arrival times on monitors. Improvements are also created for cyclists and pedestrians: A new passenger passage enables safe and barrier -free access to the platforms and to the opposite side of the salt, including a safe crossing of the B311.

The state of Salzburg, together with the municipality of Bruck and the ÖBB, is investing around 34.4 million euros in this future -oriented project. The new bridge parts are a significant step towards a safe and modern traffic route in the region.
