Traffic accident on the B96: Fire Brigade Tamsweg secures the site
On November 21, 2024, the fire brigade Tamsweg together with the fire truck Sauerfeld at 12:16 p.m. was called for a traffic accident on the B96 in the Sauerfeld district. A vehicle fire message was originally received. But when the emergency services arrived, they quickly found that it was an accident between two cars and no fire had broken out. Head of operations Ofk Abi Pati Patrick Bacher took over the coordination on site.
While the fire brigade arrived, a team from the Red Cross had already taken over the medical care of an injured person. This shows how important the cooperation of all emergency services is in such emergencies. The fire brigade focused on ensuring fire protection and setting up a local diversion together with the police. These measures were necessary to maintain the flow of traffic during the cleanup.
Support for rescue and traffic cleaning
After the accident recording by the police, the fire brigade started cleaning the road immediately. The quick restoration of the traffic situation was of great importance because the B96 is a busy road. At the same time, the fire brigade helped the towing service to rescue the damaged vehicles in order to be able to release the road as soon as possible.
A total of 40 firefighters from the main guard Tamsweg and the fire truck Sauerfeld were deployed, supported by five vehicles. The Red Cross was also on site with an emergency vehicle and the police with a emergency vehicle, which underlines the coordinated reaction of all auxiliary services involved. At 1:00 p.m. the B96 was finally completely released for traffic.
This use not only demonstrates the efficiency of the emergency services, but also the important role that you play in the guarantee of security on our streets. Further details on this commitment and other events in the region can be found in a report on www.meinbezirk.at .
