Erasmus+program on the BG Tamsweg: Learning new, making friendships
In Tamsweg, an interesting project comes alive that not only offers students educational experiences, but also enables new friendships. The Bundesgymnasium Tamsweg has been involved in the Erasmus+program, an initiative of the European Union, which promotes the exchange of pupils from different countries for a year. The school management, headed by director Klaus Heitzmann, is enthusiastic about the positive effects of this program on the school and learning community.
The effective expansion of this international exchange was largely supported by the teachers Bettina Oberreiter and Anita Kollau. These two educators have ensured that pupils are given the opportunity to expand their knowledge in different languages and to enjoy cultural peculiarities from other countries. Generous funding is available for the exchange projects, which facilitates the implementation of such programs.

The beginning of the new school year was very exciting for the students of the BG Tamsweg: a group of students from Bergerac, a city in France, attended their partner class and made it possible to exchange lively exchange. In addition to the lessons, trial activities were also on the program, which should serve to improve the German skills of the guests and get to know the culture of lung.
highlight of the program design were the exciting excursions, such as a visit to the over 800 -year -old Mauterndorf Castle and a tour of the Tamsweg Agricultural School. There, the French students had the opportunity to try regional delicacies that are estimated in local gastronomy. Another highlight was the city tour through Salzburg, which ended with the traditional Rupertikirtag. These experiences not only created lasting memories, but also new international friendships that should continue to exist in the future.
future exchanges
The enthusiasm for the exchange is obvious: In spring, the 7th grade of the BG Tamsweg will take a return visit to Bergerac, which everyone involved is already looking forward to. The exchange also captivates other countries - the 6th grade also maintains an exchange with a school in the Czech Republic, while the 8th grade in November has a partnership with a school in Riga, Latvia. In addition, individual students have the option of participating in exchange programs with schools in Nice or the Netherlands for a month.
The Erasmus+program not only opened the students of the BG Tamsweg new dimensions, but also enriched their worldview. How director Heitzmann summarizes it: "There is a chance to experience Europe up close and make contacts that may last for a lifetime."
This initiative makes an important contribution to international understanding and expands the perspectives of the students, so that it can occur not only as a learner, but also as globetrotters.
