This situation not only led to a drastic interruption of train traffic, but also to considerable delays in all directions.

The police acted immediately and mobilized special forces and explosive detectors to search the station area thoroughly. Police spokesman Hans Wolfgruber said that for investigative reasons there could be no further information on the specific threat.

These events are not isolated. Already on Tuesday there was a similar alarm in Linz, which increases concern about security in public places in Austria. A pattern of threats in different cities has caused an alarming debate about security measures. According to reports from salzburg.orf.at has already caused such a development.

The circumstances behind this threat are still unclear, but it is obvious that the authorities must remain vigilant to ensure the security of citizens. At the moment it remains to be seen which further steps the police will take and whether there could be further similar incidents in other cities.
