Inclusion in focus: Cultural fund prices 2024 in Salzburg
On Monday evening, an important award ceremony for the city's cultural fund was held in Salzburg, in which the focus was on the topic for the first time. This initiative aims to promote art and cultural projects, bring people of different ages together and with and without impairments and enable them to participate in cultural events. It is a step that underlines the importance of an equal participation of everyone in society.
The event took place in the impressive solitaire of the University of Mozarteum, where the jury paid extraordinary achievements and commitment in the areas of art, culture and science. Mayor Bernhard Auinger (SPÖ) presented the awards, each endowed with 12,000 euros. The award ceremony arises from the endeavor to support creative projects that implement inclusion in its essential form - regardless of age, origin, cultural background, impairment or sexual orientation.
award winners and their projects
The main award winners include Stefan Rinner and Reinhold Tritscher. Rinner, who was awarded in the field of science and research, deals intensively with discriminatory language. In his work, he questions how language can influence our thoughts and feelings. He aims at phenomena such as hate speeches and political and therapeutic statements. This perspective on language is not only academically relevant, but also of social importance, since it contributes to awareness in society.
The second main award winner, Reinhold Tritscher, is known as head of the Ecce Theater and is honored for his integrative theater work. He has been committed to promoting people with impairments by the theater for almost 30 years. Tritscher made it clear: "Inclusion is work. Inclusion requires resources, requires effort. And inclusion gives us as a society with a variety and great wealth." These words illustrate the feat that inclusion is in practice, but also the incomparable value it offers the community.
In addition, funding and special prices of a one-time 10,000 euros and three times 6,000 euros were awarded to support various projects. These include important initiatives for children and adolescents as well as dance projects from Salzburg, which promote diversity and creativity within the city.
The award ceremony not only shows the efforts to do social justice in culture, but also the increasing appreciation for integrative approaches in the arts. For more information about the award ceremony and the excellent projects, See the current reporting on Salzburg.ORF .
