Stories from nostalgia: Antique dealer Provci opens its warehouse

In a charming camp in Bachstrasse 4, Sergej Provci, the proud owner of the antique business "Nostalgie", presents an impressive collection of antiques. Boxes full of books, postcards and ancient dishes are lined up on large, framed pictures. Provci, who came to Salzburg with his parents from Bosnia in 1989, not only built up a flourishing company with his business at Linzer Gasse 49, but also created a loving environment for stories and memories.

his warehouse is first at home for the treasures before you find your way to the online shop or business. Provci sends the products worldwide - from a large Luster to Los Angeles to fine porcelain to New Zealand. "I love talking to people about antiques and experiencing the stories behind it," he explains with enthusiasm.

a path from the flea market to your own business

The story of "Nostalgie" began in 2001 when Provci's parents opened the first antique business. They originally discovered their passion when selling flea market items. Provci remembers that many customers initially only came to chat and only bought something later. The exchange with customers remains important to him today.

Provci took over the company in 2015 and adds his own manuscript to the philosophy of his predecessor. Transparency and honesty is important to him. He advises his customers to always get two opinions before selling valuables. In a business like his, it is crucial to act with specialist knowledge and empathy at the same time. He also warns of dubious dealers who often weigh jewelry and gold over non -tested scales, which leads to many misunderstandings.

The range and future plans

Provci acquires antiques from household resolutions and inheritances, but specializes in old photos, postcards and coins. He also expanded his range to address a broader clientele. "The cheap articles put people into business and often take them more than they originally planned," he explains. This strategy has led to more and more people from the region contact him due to its excellent Google rating of 4.9

An exciting innovation announces itself for March 2025, because then Provci will open its warehouse every first Saturday of the month for a flea market. "I look forward to getting to know even more people and bringing them closer to the joy of antiques," he says enthusiastically.
