Merry Christmas for everyone: Samariterbund brings light in children's eyes

The "Play Christkind" campaign for years has been very popular for years and makes a significant contribution to the fact that around 2000 gifts are distributed to needy children in Salzburg. Every year at Christmas time, children can hardly expect what the Christ child has ready for them this year. Unfortunately, not all children in Austria are fulfilled of anticipation; Over 376,000 children currently have to live with poverty in terms of around every fifth child. The difficult life situation of these children becomes clear, especially in the Advent season. Many families cannot afford the necessary purchases for the festival, so that gifted children often stand empty at this time.

With the Christmas campaign, the Samaritan Association aims to give the needy children a little pleasure. "No child should go away empty -handed for Christmas," said the initiative's credo. The gifts collected are delivered to places where they are most urgently needed.

Participation in the campaign is uncomplicated. If you want to participate, you just have to pack a gift and send free of charge to the address of the Samaritan Association in Michael-Walz-Gasse 18a in 5020 Salzburg. The Samaritan Youth team and other helpers, both main and volunteer, take over the distribution of packers from social institutions and disadvantaged families across Austria. Christian Dengg from the Samaritan Association emphasizes: "Together we can give children affected by poverty.
