Salzburg's gadauner gorge wins 9 places - 9 treasures 2023!
Salzburg won his first title on Saturday evening at the popular ORF show "9 Places-9 treasures". The Gadauner gorge in Bad Hofgastein was voted the most beautiful place, which warmed up the hearts of the spectators across the country. This means that only three federal states - Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland - are left without a title.
The Gadauner gorge, an impressive rock gorge, has been under nature conservation since 1978 and has emerged through its unique charm. The state sponsor Bartl Gensbichler, known as Ski World Cup chief, campaigned for this treasure from Salzburg. Maria Taferl landed in second place, while the Giglachseen in Styria took third place, which shows the variety of beautiful places in Austria.
The competition for the most beautiful places
The show "9 places - 9 treasures" was first launched by ORF in 2014 to choose the country's most beautiful geographical gems. In the previous ten editions there were clear winners, with Vorarlberg at the top with four titles. Salzburg, Tyrol, Upper Austria and Carinthia can each show a title.
The final broadcast was moderated by Armin Assinger and Barbara Kutlich and pursued an average of 823,000 spectators, which corresponds to a market share of 35 percent - the second highest value in the history of the show. For everyone who cannot get enough of the beautiful places, there is another show on Sunday afternoon, which will present the 27 places that were sent to the race by the federal states. The Kral-Verlag has also published a book about these highly estimated places.
Overall, the competition was a great success, and the Gadauner gorge will now attract many visitors who want to discover this new treasure in Salzburg. The last ten winners of the show are:
