Young football in the Pongau: Talents in the ascent and decline

In Salzachpongau, developments in football are a little different. While some clubs in the region come up with an increase in young talents, others have to struggle with a significant decline. The surrounding football clubs currently experience very different phases in terms of young talent.

A positive balance draws St. Johann. The club has welcomed 20 new children in the youth area in recent months, although 15 players left the club. The departures to Red Bull Salzburg are particularly unfortunate - four players opted for this big club. "We have over 200 young players, and that's a great number," says Fatih Yilmaz, the youth leader of the association. The influx from Bischofshofen is also striking, where the dissolution of the syndicate with Kuchl apparently many talents draws to St. Johann. The record numbers in the area of under seven year olds are particularly gratifying. The TSV fights for the best players, but also benefits from the returnees if they do not make the jump at Red Bull.

tendencies at other clubs

at the SK Bischofshofen, the numbers are less gratifying. The association has had 24 departures since July, including several promising talents. Despite these departures, the number of members remains stable for around 150 young players. Club manager Patrick Reiter notices that the association's philosophy places more weight on new beginnings than departures. Nevertheless, the pressure through larger clubs such as Red Bull and the WAC becomes more and more noticeable, which causes the local clubs to have difficulty keeping their talents. The U14 of the Bischofshofer Association has suffered great defeats in the last games, which illustrates the tense situation.

The situation is different at the parish throwing sports club, which is currently recording record numbers in the young area. With 110 youthful kickers, the association has significantly increased its stock compared to the past few years. "A particularly large number of children come to us from Bischofshofen, but also from throwing," reports youth leader Tristan Huttegger. The parish throwing has also learned that some players changed the club in the summer months, but the board continues to see a positive development in youth work.

In Tenneck, a challenging phase is emerging. Even if the association has only four departures, it fights with internal difficulties and was not able to occupy all age groups during the offspring. There is currently only one U11 and U7, while the U14 plays with parish throwing in a syndicate. Youth leader Wolfgang Kronif is thoughtfully commented on the increasing competition for talent: "It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the players."

The SV Schwarzach, on the other hand, experiences a positive development in the youth area with a number of 104 and a stable structure. Youth leader Jose Dörfelmayer is happy about the linking of all ages from U8 to U16 and sees the development of his club overall, despite some challenges in the U14. "It is a year of apprenticeship for our team, but we keep a look at the upcoming successes."

The differences between the clubs in the Salzach pongau are clear, with some standing excellently, while others urgently need support. The competition for talent has changed noticeably in recent years, and it remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the future. More details for this offers An article on www.s.at .
