Salzburg AG is investing 1.7 billion euros for a green future!
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - Salzburg AG heads into the year 2025 with an impressive investment budget of 342 million euros and plans to advance the transformation of the energy system. Governor Wilfried Haslauer emphasizes that the company acts as an engine for independence and security of supply by investing in hydropower, solar and wind energy as well as the network infrastructure. These steps are crucial to continue to offer fair prices and at the same time to support the energy transition in Salzburg, as already reported.
The investment of around 84 million euros in the expansion of renewable energies and 122 million euros for network infrastructure is particularly remarkable. New power plants such as Sulzau and Stegenwald are to be put into operation in 2025, while three new photovoltaic systems are completed. These measures not only offer a contribution to the sustainable energy future, but also strengthen the local economy. In addition, Salzburg AG will build new e-charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and modernize the public transport infrastructure to set new standards in mobility.
price increases and relief for customers: inside
Salzburg AG will introduce the "electricity price lid" to cushion the increased costs for households from January 1, 2025. The "Electricity Private 24 Strand" tariff provides for the first 1,000 kWh to cover 10 cents net per kWh, while the normal price afterwards is 16.9 cents net. This offers significant relief for many households, as can be seen from the information from Salzburg AG. In addition, Salzburg AG has reduced gas prices several times, which is one of the cheapest providers in Austria, such as ots.at reported.
