The tailwind for the music industry: BZZZZZ conference delights 200 participants!
Wirtschaftskammer Österreich, Österreich - On May 26, 2025, the second conference of the Austrian music industry "BZZZZ" took place in the Austria Chamber of Commerce. Over 200 representatives: inside from different areas such as management, labels, music publishers, recording studios, musicians and agencies had traveled to discuss the current economic framework of the industry in Austria. The organizer and chairman Hannes Tschürtz emphasized the urgency to actively work and work together at the future of Austria's music location.
The subjects of the conference were diverse and ranged from professionalization to internationalization to mentoring models. The Keynote of Yasmin Hafedh, better known as Yasmo, was particularly remarkable, who presented her messages in the form of an impressive poetry slam. In addition, the existing mentoring offers were discussed in Austria.

A central concern of the participants was the nationwide networking of the music industry. David Buder called for the establishment of so -called “music offices” in every federal state to promote and better networking the actors. Anna Buchegger also spoke out for a greater appreciation of the musicians.
In the sessions, differences between labels were discussed, as well as the support of organizations such as Mica and Austria Music Export. Financing and AI applications in the music business were further core issues. The conference also offered numerous service and advisory services from stakeholder organizations, whereby the cooperation between the specialist association of the film and music industry (FAMA), AKM, IFPI, Vtmö, GFöM and SKE funds is particularly noteworthy.
Austrian music industry in the figures
The music industry in Austria has a considerable added value of 7.5 billion euros and is therefore the country's most third -strongest industry. It contributes 2.8 percent to the gross domestic product (GDP), which underlines the importance of this industry. A study shows that the potential of the music industry has so far been often underestimated, so that investments in this area could strengthen the entire Austrian economy. This data illustrates how important such events are to advance the industry and set new impulses.
The next issue of the "Bzzzz" conference will take place on September 5 and 6, 2024 in the city cinema in the Künstlerhaus, at the same time as the Waves Vienna Festival. During the two days, the participants can expect exciting lectures, including an opening panel on the music economy and workshops on AI technologies in the music industry and international marketing campaigns. Combined tickets are already available and offer both access to the conference and the festival.
In addition, the trends and structures in other cities such as Berlin have shown that various initiatives have been continuously supporting the music industry since 2002. The Music management initiative The Senate Department for Economy has launched significant projects for location development and established conferences for networking. Berlin, with more than 15.1% of German music companies and a rich event life, acts as a trendsetter and shows how important innovative approaches are for the music industry.
