Revolutionary Self-Test fire alarms: Security redefined!

Deutschland - On April 9, 2025, Esser by Honeywell introduced a revolutionary fire registration system that is now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The new self-testing smoke and fire detectors are VDS en-certified for security of buildings and their users.

The self -testing detectors automate the inspection of fire alarm systems and enable an increase in security and efficiency, both in new and existing systems. The conventional, manual test procedures are often time -consuming and can interfere with the operating sequence. So far, technicians have had to trigger the detectors manually with test gas or heat, which was particularly problematic in areas that were difficult to access.

Automated tests for more efficiency

The system automatically checks optical and thermal detectors through the innovative self-test technology. This ensures that the smoke entry openings are free without physical access to the detectors. After the automatic test, only a visual inspection is necessary, which simplifies the entire process considerably. In addition, the tests can be carried out during normal operating times, whereby technicians only deactivate the detectors to be tested and then reactivate the system immediately.

The new solution from Esser is in the cloud-based platform Connected Life Safety Services (Clss) integrated by Honeywell, which significantly simplifies the installation, inspection and compliance with regulations. CLSS also enables a real-time overview of the fire registration system and ensures seamless communication within all components.

diverse detectors for different requirements

The self-testing detectors are based on the IQ8quad product family and include thermal, optical, dual-optical and multi-criteria detectors. This enables comprehensive coverage of the different needs in fire alarm technology.

fire registration systems are not only important for safety reasons, but also legal requirements that ensure the protection of employees, objects and assets. Securitas Technology offers tailor-made solutions that meet local and national building and fire protection regulations. Before installation, incoming examinations are carried out to select the suitable fire alarm systems. The experienced team develops integrated solutions that meet the specific requirements and needs of customers.
