ÖSV nominations: Puchner sees Super-G only as a spectator!

Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Österreich - The tension increases! In the final departure training of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the Czech Ester Ledecka set the best time on the Ulli Maier route. Mirjam Puchner, the best Austrian, took second place with only 0.22 seconds behind. The German ski racer Emma Aicher rounded off the top trio to third place, but had to stop her run early and finished 0.43 seconds behind, such as laola1.at reported.

In contrast to Puchner, who already took sixth place in the first training session and the best time in second training session, other ÖSV runners had difficulties. Stephanie Venier, the new Super-G world champion, broke off her run, while Cornelia Hütter and Ariane Rädler only took rear places. Hütter came to 17th place with 2.09 seconds behind, Rädler followed as 20 (+2: 19). Christina Ager, who was nominated, landed in 23rd place (+2.64). The official World Cup departure takes place on Saturday and the athletes are ready to take up the fight for medals.

team nominations for the Super-G

In the middle of the departure training, ÖSV announced the team for women's Super-G on Wednesday, in which Mirjam Puchner was not taken into account despite their strong performance. Puchner said disappointed, but accepted the decision because her achievements were not convincing enough in the season so far. As part of the Super-G, Conny Hütter, Stephanie Venier, Ariane Rädler and Ricarda Haaser will compete for Austria, such as kleinezeitung.at found.

In the men's super-G, Vincent Kriechmayr will lead the Austrian team and is therefore ready to master the pressure on the appropriate routes. These nominations and the achievements of the athletes will heat up the tension and expectations until the World Cup departure on Saturday.
