Austria's economy on the ground: FPÖ demands radical measures!

Austria's economy is under enormous pressure and has continuously recorded negative growth in the past three years. This alarming development is accompanied by a pessimistic economic forecast, such as the Kurier determined.

In order to improve the economic framework, the FPÖ also calls for a new codification of the trade regulations to simplify the career access. Currently, the non -wage costs in Austria are 27 percent of work, which is significantly higher in international comparison than, for example, in Germany (23 percent) or Denmark (13 percent). In addition, the deletion of chamber levy 2 is required, which will be a burden of around 433 million euros for entrepreneurs in the coming year.

In a global comparison, Austria cuts off weakly, which also becomes clear in the data on the growth rates of the real gross domestic product (GDP). After a survey by Eurostat, which was published on May 2, 2025, Austria lost competitiveness compared to other EU member states. The stagnating growth rates throw a negative light on the current economic developments and illustrate the need for faster and effective reforms, as from the data to Statista .

In order to promote economic growth, Kluge stimulates increased promotion of digitization in the economy. The domestic capital market is considered problematic, since companies have to rely on local banks that once again show a strict lending internship. This situation particularly disadvantages start-ups and companies with intangible assets.

In view of these diverse challenges, the FPÖ emphasizes that the applications submitted to the National Council offer solutions to relieve and strengthen the economy and that there is a need to find innovative approaches to combat current economic difficulties.
