Austria's U19 football national team has missed the opportunity to qualify for the European Championship finals next June in Romania. The decisive step was prevented on Tuesday at the qualifying tournament in Hajdúszoboszló, Hungary. The team under the direction of coach Oliver Lederer had to surrender 1-2 against Denmark. Denmark, which won the tournament without loss of points, thus qualified for the final round. The course of the game was dramatic. Although Denmark's goalkeeper Tobias Breum-Harild had to leave the field in the 10th minute due to a red card, Austria was unable to convert the majority into an advantage. In the 55th minute, Yanik Spalt brought the Austrians in the lead from VfB Stuttgart, but the joy did not last long. Lukas Larsen equalized in the 69th minute, and Mikel Gogorza scored the decisive 2-1 for Denmark.
