Austria's new course: Refurbish security situation in Syria!
The fall of Bashar al-Assad and the associated political upheavals in Syria have massive effects on asylum policy in Europe, especially in Austria. Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced that all ongoing asylum procedures for Syrian citizens in Austria will be temporarily suspended. This is done in view of the new security situation, which was created by the fall of the regime. Nehammer emphasized: "Syria now needs its fellow citizens! The fall of the Assad regime changes the overall situation." The Ministry of the Interior was commissioned to re -evaluate the situation in Syria, and remaining rights already granted should also be checked. The Austrian Chancellor sees the voluntary return of Syrians to their home country as part of the reconstruction and strives for closer international cooperation, such as Kosmo reported.
At the same time, the international community reacted to this dramatic upheaval. The Israeli army has already attacked several military positions in Syria to neutralize strategic weapon systems-a step that was also carried out after the Assad regime falls. Israel emphasizes that it does not want to interfere in the internal affairs of Syria, but only acts on the safety of its citizens. Attacks on weapons and positions of pro-Iranian groups were registered in several parts of Syrian provinces. This happened shortly after the change of power, which led to the indicator of the Israeli army into the demilitarized zone on the Golan heights, which is considered by the UN as a conflict with an agreement concluded in 1974, such as n-tv reported.
