Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced that all ongoing asylum procedures for Syrian citizens in Austria will be temporarily suspended. This is done in view of the new security situation, which was created by the fall of the regime. Nehammer emphasized: "Syria now needs its fellow citizens! The fall of the Assad regime changes the overall situation." The Ministry of the Interior was commissioned to re -evaluate the situation in Syria, and remaining rights already granted should also be checked. The Israeli army has already attacked several military positions in Syria to neutralize strategic weapon systems-a step that was also carried out after the Assad regime falls. Israel emphasizes that it does not want to interfere in the internal affairs of Syria, but only acts on the safety of its citizens. Attacks on weapons and positions of pro-Iranian groups were registered in several parts of Syrian provinces.
