Austrian Film Prize 2025: ORF films celebrate with 17 awards!
hq7 studios, Wien, Österreich - On June 12, 2025, the eager to award the Austrian Film Award 2025 took place in the Vienna HQ7 Studios. In a year in which the ORF emerged as an important supporter of the film industry, 17 out of 18 awards went to the movie from ORF. This impressive dominance illustrates the networking between the film industry and radio in the country.
One of the big winners of the evening is the film "The Village Next to Paradise", which was awarded a total of five prizes, including the title "Best feature film". The biopic "With a tiger sleep" also achieved the same number of awards and received the award for the "best female leading role", which Birgit Minichmayr received for her acting performance. These successes reflect the diversity and quality of this year's Austrian filmmaker.
