Deletion campaign on the A1: Truck fire at Sattledt provides traffic jams
On Monday evening, a dramatic incident was observed on the A1 West Autobahn on the Krei Alpine cross, in the municipality of Sattledt. A truck that was loaded with packages and a variety of tires suddenly went up in flames. Within a few minutes, the fire developed into a full fire that presented the emergency services with great challenges.
A total of three firefighting teams were supported by the motorway police, ASFINAG and a company that specializes in the mountains of truck. Fortunately, the fire brigade prevented the fire from attacking the trailer. This was securely removed from the burning truck using a winch. Fortunately, the driver of the truck was not injured, but the scene was still impressive and scary.

The extinguishing work and the subsequent tidying up led to massive traffic disorders in this area of the highway. The A1 in the direction of Salzburg was only difficult for a long time, and the driveway from Sattledt to the A1 was also closed due to the circumstances. Drivers had to adjust to significant delays while the emergency services did their work.
The damage investigation on the nearby toll bridge was particularly worrying. This was severely affected by the fire and must be checked in detail after completing the extinguishing work in order to ensure safety on the highway. Such incidents are not only challenging for those directly affected, but also influence traffic safety and flow in the region.
The incident once again shows how important the quick reaction of the emergency services is. Thanks to the courageous intervention of the fire brigade, worse, in particular a spread of the fire to the trailer, could be prevented. This is further proof of the commitment and professionalism of the emergency services that are regularly required in such exceptional situations.
