Advent handover in Oberneukirchen: Experience tradition and community
The transfer of Advent is an integral part of tradition in Oberneukirchen. This year, numerous committed helpers came together to bring this nice custom to life again. The event aims to promote both the sense of community and give people with disabilities the opportunity to bring in their creative skills.
At this year's handover, more than 100 Advent wreaths were manufactured, with each individual wreath received an individual note. This was possible thanks to the great support of various workshops. The candles were cast for the wreaths in the Wartberg workshop OB the Aist, which is located in the Freistadt district. The branches that give the wreaths the typical look come from their own tree culture and were provided by the Garden & Landscape workshop. The crowning glory was the completion of the Advent wreaths in the “Gärtnerei & Bioladen Friedenshort” in Gallneukirchen.

The community was represented by Mayor Josef Rathgeb and Vice Mayor Anneliese Bräuer, who ceremoniously received the wreath. This personal handover underlines the importance of the event in the community and the commitment to tradition. It shows how important the cooperation is and emphasizes the positive contributions that people with disabilities can do if appropriate opportunities are created.
It is an enriching experience that not only enjoys the participants, but also awakens the anticipation for the upcoming holidays. The transfer of Advent reminds everyone to appreciate the common path and support within the community.
