Successful young must award: Awards for Köglerhof and Lackner
In the idyllic region of Gramastetten and Walding, an important award for two local must producers was recently presented. In the 18th young must award, the products of the Köglerhof in Gramastetten and the Hofkellerei Lackner in Walding were honored for their outstanding youngsters. Both companies received the coveted state test number that stands for quality and excellence.
The award refers to the first young must of the year, which consists of a classic apple-pirn-must. This year promised some challenges, especially due to the unfavorable weather conditions, such as Frost in April and a subsequent drought in summer. These conditions caused uncertainties among the fruit growers, since the yield and quality of the apples and pears could be affected. Nevertheless, sufficient amounts of quality could be obtained from the press fruit.
