Association Gaflenz: All -year program brings new impetus to community life
At the annual meeting of the Winter Summer Sports Association (WSG) Gaflenz, which took place on November 24th in the Stubauer inn, numerous successes from last year were celebrated. Chairman Helmut Stubauer opened the meeting in front of a large number of members and guests to illuminate the success and challenges of the association.
The financial report by cashier Daniel Fluch, who was able to look back on an extremely successful year, was particularly noteworthy. The assembly unanimously expressed the relief. In his report, Stubauer emphasized the broad list of the association and the year -round program, which is offered to all members, and thanked the sponsors whose support is essential for the success of the association. In the area of running sports, the WSG was strong, which is also evident in the lively participation in regional events. Teams, led by Victoria Desch and Paul Steindler, achieved remarkable placements in competitions and contribute to the youth work of the association.
Another common topic during the meeting was the challenge of managing the Ski-Alpin and cross-country skiing section for the last winter months. Section manager Werner Harreither reported on successful ski training that was carried out with other ski clubs from the region. Nevertheless, the lack of snow thwarted the bill, which led to several competitions to be canceled.

The Stocksport section, under the direction of Sandra Schönberger, was also required. Due to the weather conditions, traditional ice shooting had to be laid on asphalt, but this did not reduce the popularity of sport. The local championship in particular found great response with 22 participating teams.
Another highlight was the mountain bike section, which can convince with a year -round program. Josef Riegler announced various trips, including a trip to the Wachau, which the members appreciated very much. The switch to touring skis in the winter months also shows that the association adapts continuously to the circumstances and offers the members variety.
In summary, it can be said that the WSG Gaflenz has again proven how diverse and committed the association works this year. Mayor Andreas Kaltenbrunner thanked those responsible and emphasized the importance of the association for the community. The chairman of the cultural committee, Daniel Hirtenlehner, praised the WSG's awareness in the region and the inviting atmosphere that the club offers.
