A festive event is imminent: The Garstner Advent celebrates its 48th edition. The event will open the event on Saturday, November 30th at 10.30 a.m. President Max Hiegelsberger. This continues a tradition that brings together numerous volunteers and exhibitors to celebrate the pre -Christmas period. With over 25 committed helpers and more than 90 stands and exhibitors, the event promises a great variety and festive atmosphere.
The 450 Christmas trees, which are delivered by local farmers, are particularly important. After December 8, these trees will be used sustainably to other places, which underlines the regional connection and sustainability of the event. Around 300 people are involved in the organization and implementation of the Garstner Advent, and they make a valuable contribution to the community.mood and craft in the center
Around the “Platzl” in the heart of Garsten, a pre -Christmas atmosphere is created. Over 60 stands and 30 exhibitors present a mixture of traditional delicacies and regional craft. Visitors can discover stands of bakers, beekeepers, hunters and chocolatiers who offer their products. There are also live demonstrations of art and nail forging that provide insights into “living craft” as well as carpenters who work with traditional techniques.
In the event hall, over 30 artisans are represented, including glass painters, potter and goldsmiths. These artists not only show their craft, but also let visitors take part in their creative creative process. In the Lederhilgerhaus, an interesting exhibition of the Garsten group of gold and hammer.

A highlight is the extensive program for families. On November 30th, a space concert by the Garsten Music Association will take place at 4 p.m., which provides musical entertainment with alpine and hunting horn players and choirs. There is an exciting children's program for the little ones, while students of the elementary school perform a shepherd's game. In addition, Nikolaus will visit the Advent market on December 1st at 4 p.m.
The Garstner crib tradition is presented in the former foundation praise with impressive crib arts that come from private collections. Visitors can admire a wide variety of crisis types, including Marian Rittinger's well -known "crib" from 1705, which can be seen in the Abbey Museum.
Another highlight is the Lego special exhibition in the middle school, which inspires with a detailed landscape on over 30 m². This show shows the popular construction from the past fifty years, which inspires many children, especially in the Christmas season. The kits are not only a toy, but are part of the festive tradition of many families.
