On November 15, 2024, an exciting event took place in the Werndlpark high school. The free programming club Coderdojo Steyr attended school for the first time. Around 30 excited children aged 7 to 17 had the opportunity to become creative with programming languages such as Scratch and Python. In another room, 12 other children focused on programming Micro: Bits, where they made colorful LEDs to glow and flashing. This event attracted the attention and enthusiasm of many young coders who demonstrated their skills with radiant faces.

Florian Bachofner-Mayr, the director of the high school, emphasized the importance of digital education: "Media are omnipresent in our everyday life. It is all the more important to not only use the media, but also to get an understanding of how the digital world is built up and works. Coderdojo creates this by programming their own games." He was pleased with the collaboration and announced that he will continue to be available as a host for Coderdojo Steyr in the future. The initiator Maria Pernegger thanked the school for her hospitality and emphasized how important the central location is for the young programmers.
