50 years of vocational school Steyr 1: Successful training for the future

In Steyr, an important educational anniversary is celebrated: The vocational school Steyr 1 celebrates its 50th anniversary and can look back on a remarkable story in dual training. Since then, the school has offered many apprentices a solid foundation in technical professions such as motor vehicle technology, metal technology and recently also in fiber composite technology. These developments show that the training always keeps up with the technical advances.

The importance of this institution for the region should not be underestimated. Over the years, the vocational school has set standards through close cooperation with industry and a connection between theory and practice. The focus was always on the needs of the students and the labor market. Education politician LH-Stv.in Christine Haberlander recognized the years of use of the school and its teachers: "The close connection between practice and the latest technology is trained here."

commitment and innovation

The great success of the Steyr 1 vocational school is also shown in the large number of training opportunities that are continuously expanded. An important innovation this year is the additional teaching profession fiber composite technology. In her speech, LAbg. Regina Aspalter emphasized how important the maintenance of innovative strength in the educational institution is: "Steyr 1 vocational school proves its commitment on many levels." The close cooperation with companies in the region ensures that the students learn in modern workshops and laboratories.

Director Harald Ebenhofer also underlined the responsibility of the school: "It is very important to us to offer our apprentices a modern and practical training." Thanks not only to the state of Upper Austria, which has been supporting the institution for years, but also to the companies that are actively involved in the training process. The promotion of a positive teaching and learning culture lies the foundation for the success of the students.

international exchange and future projects

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, the school received international guests from the secondary school Fernando III in Andalusia. The Erasmus partnership with the Spanish institution, which has existed since 2017, not only enables teachers, but also joint projects. Director Manuel Caballero Águila and his specialists use their visit to develop sustainable cooperation in intensive discussions and create new synergies for future projects.

The anniversary of the Steyr 1 vocational school shows in an impressive way how modern training, combined with international exchange and a clear focus on the needs of the labor market, can be designed. For the region, the school remains a decisive factor in training future specialists.
