Schwendtbauer becomes the new chairman at Salinen AG after Androsch's death
Reinhard Schwendtbauer, the designated general director of the Raiffeisenlandesbank Upper Austria, will take over the chair of the Salinen AG supervisory board from May 2025. This personnel decision follows the departure of Heinrich Schaller, who is retiring and has already given up his position as deputy chairman of the supervisory board. This was decided in the constituent meeting of the Supervisory Board, as Salinen AG announced, and started a significant change in corporate management.
The changes are a direct consequence of Hannes Androsch's tragic death, which has played a formative role in politics and business for decades and died last December. Hannes Androsch was not only a dazzling figure, but also a driving force behind the privatization of Salinen AG in 1997, where he played a key role together with the Raiffeisenlandesbank. His resignation also brings Georg Riedl, the board of the Androsch private foundation, into the game, which will now take over the function of the deputy chairman. These new management decisions are particularly important, since Salinen AG belongs to 41.25 percent of AIC Androsch International Management Consulting GmbH and RLB Upper Austria, which will influence the strategic management of the company in the region, such as Nachrichten.at reported.
The new occupation of management positions not only shows how close the connections between politics and business are, but also that the death of Hannes Androsch has ended an era. The current decisions illustrate the need for a stable hand in corporate management to ensure the continuity of business, while Salinen AG is still one of the most important companies in the region.
