On October 22, 2024, a special honor was made in the Zwettl district. The Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich honored the municipality of Zwettl entitled "Most cultural -friendly community in the district". This award shows how important cultural activities and initiatives are for the development of a municipality.

The competition for the title "most cultural -friendly community" attracted a total of 152 communities that fought for the award. The focus was on the support of local art and cultural projects as well as the creation of a diverse cultural offerings by the municipalities. Not only the number of cultural initiatives, but also the quality of the support for cultural workers were decisive for the assessment. The jury praised Zwettl for its outstanding cultural diversity and the framework conditions that are created for local artists.
The mayor Andrea Wiesmüller received the award on behalf of the community and expressed its joy about the lively cultural life in Zwettl. She mentioned the important contribution of numerous volunteers and artists without whom the cultural offer would not be possible. "Your passion and dedication are the heart of our lively cultural scene," she said during the award ceremony.
A special symbol for Zwettl was the Hundertwasserbrunnen, which the Vice Mayor presented when accepting the prize. This work of art is representative of the cultural identity of the city and its commitment to local culture.
