Time cushion in Zwettl: provide help and provide for the future

In Zwettl, an innovative group was recently launched, which helps to improve support for people in need under the name "Zeitlüster". This new care model enables people to help others to receive time criminals that can be used for childcare services during the age. The initiators of the group, consisting of three team members, are now looking for helpful people who want to get involved.

Demographic change, the change in family structures and increasing mobility in society mean that many people of their age do not receive the support they need. The new concept of time cushion stipulates that healthy and active people help others in their surroundings and are paid for it. This help includes simple activities such as shopping, visiting the doctor, providing society or childcare. The funding amounts are credited in a time account that the helpers can use later if they need support themselves.

simple helpful services

The group in Zwettl is part of a larger Austrian network that already includes 38 such groups, including twelve in Lower Austria. While the Zwettler group is still in the founding phase, further care services are to be offered in the future that should make everyday life easier for people in need. Elisabeth Wiesmüller, the team leader of the group, emphasizes the importance of the initiative: "I am pleased that we were able to bring this sensible preventive and care concept to my home.

This new model goes beyond traditional neighborhood aid and works for a systematic change in the support structures. In addition to creating an aid network, it also aims to encourage members of the community, become more active and to take responsibility. Registrations for interested helpers are now open and meet great interest in the region.
