Economic impulses in the Waldviertel: Entrepreneur prices in 2024

In a festive gala in the Gaul experience world, 15 entrepreneurs from the Horn, Gmünd, Waidhofen an der Thaya, Zwettl and Krems regions were recently awarded. The Social Democratic Wirtschaftsverband NÖ (SWV Lower Austria) gave prices in various categories to honor the entrepreneurial spirit and the innovative strength in these rural areas.

Thomas Schaden, the President of the SWV NÖ, describes the philosophy behind the price as "Move On" and emphasizes the need for constant further development for the self -employed. This applies in particular to smaller companies that have to act and adapt to be successful.

In the category "Young Entrepreneurs" Julia Fidi-Weißenhofer received the award for her "Jewel city café" in Zwettl, which shines with a stylish ambience and regional organic breakfast variations. The Stark GmbH from Irnfritz, led by Gottfried and Reinhard Stark, was also awarded for their sustainable practice, in which the company generates heat and electricity through modern circular economy. This is an outstanding example of resource efficiency.

Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig, State Councilor, emphasized that sole proprietorship, as well as small and medium-sized companies, are the essence of the rural economy. They created jobs and contribute significantly to regional added value. These entrepreneurs are the driving force for the development of rural regions.

Women also played an important role in the event. Helga Kuntner from the women's boutique "Beauty Case" in Krems was awarded the winner in the "Entrepreneurs" category. Her success is based on a high feel -good factor that she conveys to her customers. In the division of the single -person companies, Kathrin Deibler from Groß Gerungs was able to convince with her sustainable concept in the “Happiness” shop, which is devoted to the topic of upcycling.

The district chairman of the SWV, Herbert Kraus, is pleased with the large number of dynamic and young companies in the region. He also emphasizes how important it is that these companies receive the attention they deserve to spread their innovative ideas.
