Warm lunch at the Zwettl high school: Volunteers wanted for food edition!

at the Zwettl grammar school is a positive development: after years without warm lunch for the students, there is now a new plan based on the commitment of the parents' association and the school management. The parents' association chairman Franz Ramssl explained that the lack of gastronomy due to personnel bottlenecks in the past was a major problem. For the students who have three days a week afternoon lessons, it was not possible to get a warm meal during school.

Thanks to the intensive efforts of the parents' association and the director Wolfgang Steinbauer and Reinhard Böhm, the St. Martin senior center will in future be responsible for the lunch catering of the students. The children can look forward to high -quality food that is already well received by other schools. "The food is very good, we are confirmed," said Ramssl and announced that there will be two menus to choose from. It is also exciting that the students can make their choice online until shortly before the food edition.

In order to implement this positive change, however, the parents' association needs active support from the community. The St. Martin senior center cannot provide their own staff to distribute meals in the high school. "We mainly need volunteers so that we will get the food on these for the time being three days a week," emphasizes Ramssl.

The school must not pay any services in this direction, which makes the search for volunteers all the more important. The parents' association is dependent on the membership fees and income from buffet sales in order to finance schools supporting projects such as "native speakers" or "school social work".

interested volunteers should have about two hours to help during the lunchtime to hand out and remove the dishes. The senior center will deliver heavy food directly to high school, which is a great relief for the helpers.
